Gen Gallery is a multi-functional space that integrates exhibition areas, an aesthetic education salon, an art store, and a reception center, serving as a model space for social aesthetics and aesthetic education. Located in the heart of the 798 Art District, the name "Gen" symbolizes the seamless connection of ideas and the continuity of space and time. The character "亘" can be broken down into "一日一," which signifies the gallery’s daily commitment to focusing wholeheartedly on the art world.


Gen Gallery’s mission is to connect artists, collectors, and the public through exhibitions and events, promote the development of art and culture, and assist artists in establishing complete artistic portfolios.




Artist Recruitment

To support the creative endeavors of emerging artists, Gen Gallery is now accepting submissions from young artists worldwide. There are no restrictions on the theme or medium of the artworks. Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at Gen Gallery’s venue and may also experience co-branded interactive activities with the gallery. Additionally, we can provide tailored support for selected artists based on their specific needs.


Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must be contemporary artists or art enthusiasts. There are no restrictions on location or educational background.

2. Applicants may apply individually or as a group.


Application Materials

1.Personal Statement: A statement of no more than 500 words explaining your understanding of art, creative philosophy, and future directions in your work.

2.Artwork Documentation: 3-5 of your most representative works, including high-quality images or videos (JPEG or PNG format). Include basic information for each piece (title, dimensions, materials, year, etc.) and a brief description (no more than 80 words per piece).

3.Artist Resume and Portfolio: A detailed resume and portfolio, including your creative philosophy, educational background, exhibition history, and other relevant experiences.


Accepted Art Forms

· Painting, sculpture, installation, video, and other media.

· Application materials are preferred in PDF format.




Curators Recruitment

To support the practical and theoretical needs of emerging curators, Gen Gallery is now accepting exhibition proposals from young curators worldwide. There are no restrictions on the theme or medium. Selected curators will have the opportunity to use Gen Gallery’s venue as an exhibition space and will be given a scheduled slot. Additionally, selected curators may engage in other public art projects with the gallery and receive tailored support based on their specific needs.


Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must be active curators in the field of contemporary art. There are no restrictions on location or educational background.

2. Applications can be submitted individually or as a group for independent or collaborative curatorial projects.

3. The proposal must be focused on contemporary art, with no limitation on art forms. The selected works must be created by artists within the last five years.


Application Materials

1. Personal Statement: A statement of no more than 500 words. If available, please provide 1-2 past examples of independent or collaborative curatorial projects or art critique articles (at least 1500 words each), along with as much detail as possible.

2. Curatorial Proposal: A detailed curatorial proposal (1500-2000 words), including:

(1) Exhibition title and theme explanation

(2) Rationale for the curatorial project and related research plan

(3) List of artists and artist bios

(4) Artwork images (at least 20 pieces or sets) with descriptions (no more than 200 words per work)

(5) Timeline for implementation

(6) Project budget (including production, transportation, insurance, installation, design, promotion, public events, publishing, and all other exhibition-related costs)

3.Personal Resume and Portfolio: Include curatorial philosophy, educational background, curatorial experience, and other relevant details.


Accepted Art Forms

· Painting (any medium), art derivatives, mixed media, sculpture, cross-media art, installation, video, sound art, and more.

· Application materials are preferred in PDF format.





How to Apply

Applicants should package all application materials and send them via email with the subject line “Gen Gallery (Curator/Artist) Recruitment Submission + [Your Name].” If you have large files such as videos, please provide a Baidu Cloud download link separately.

Deadline

Gen Gallery is accepting submissions on an ongoing basis.

We will review submitted proposals within 30 days and notify selected applicants via email. We will then proceed with discussions regarding exhibition details.


Exhibition Duration

Each exhibition will last approximately 3-4 weeks, with the final scheduling depending on the specific exhibition timeline for that year.
